Rocky Horror Reimagined ….
This piece really rocked the shop! Hollywood has always attracted these types of individuals. They have an uncanny way of morphing into most unusual interpretations. What a brilliant concept. Could this be the next cult movie in the making. Somebody….take the ball and run with it.
We started with 4 raised panels of separate acrylic paintings floated on deep deep black suede.. I was really thrilled with the choice of moulding. A deep shadow box in a misty grey brown, accented with a generous gold fillet on the inside. There is no glass in this piece so the raised panels seem to float on top of a bottomless pit….burning in hell forever. ha ha ha!

Night Gallery REBOOT….Rod Serling makes his entrance and welcomes you to take a journey with him into the realms of the macabre and the supernatural. Emerging from the darkness of antiquity, the lovely lady to the right seems to be intent on delivering some unpleasant deed to some poor unsuspecting victim. She is captured, suspended in time and space, a frozen moment of a nightmare. The paintings for the show were produced by Thomas J Wright. The unveiling of artwork in the show was the inspiration for the episode to follow. I thought it would be nice to share with you, a private showing of two special pieces that I framed for Tom recently. These are brand new, displayed here for the first time. Hahaha. We were fortunate enough to frame many of the original painting from Night Gallery for an exhibition that occurred last fall. He has a coffee table book coming out of all the wonderful paintings from that great show. A silver frame is a very complementary choice for Mr Serling. I just love that upper lip. Miss snake lady however would never settle for anything less than a gold frame don’t you think. The museum glass is almost invisible and also protects the artwork from fade out. Nice touch. Who Is Don Caras?
José Luis Rodríguez Arellano (born February 21, 1951) is a Mexican Luchador Enmascarado (masked professional wrestler) who wrestles under the ring name Dos Caras (Spanish for “two faces”). His most active years were in the 1970s and 1980s, and he achieved his greatest success in Mexico’s Universal Wrestling Alliance where he won the UWA World Heavyweight Championship three times. He has been called “the greatest heavyweight ever to come out of Mexico”. He is the creator of the Dos Caras Clutch, a hammerlock head scissor pinning combination.
A colorful mask with a figure of a two headed eagle on it to reflect his name. This mask is part of a very large collection owned by Joe Quevero. Most of the framing of his collection has been done by Frame Club over many many years. The mask is setback in this 4″ deep shadow box. It just pops.
Who is Victorio?
Legend has it that he was buried in the concrete when they laid the foundation of the building….but like Jimmy Hoffa it’s probably just a roomer. It would make a wonderful Hollywood script though, don’t you think? Robert is Victorios. He’s the guy that makes the wheels go round. He’s the real deal. Restaurateur magnifico. A fixture of North Hollywood for 56 years. You are not just guests when you visit his place you are family and don’t be supprised if he is there in person to welcome you.
This cartoon was created by Andrew Ramos, a frequent patron of the restaurant. He is a breakdown artist working for Disney Animation Studios. Aladdin, Lion King, Pocahontas etc. and now Victorios. Truly Andrews genius is reveled if you know Robert at all.
The frame is rather large. The moulding, old school black with 3 lines on the outside. It matches perfectly with another framed cartoon of Robert that has been hanging there for years. They look perfect together. Black mat with red fillet and don’t forget the UV plex. The artwork is protected from fading and it is also extra safe for a public place. Who was Frank A Gorey?
Lucille Ball’s chauffeur for nearly 30 years. He started working for Lucille in October of 1959 and was with her for the rest of her life. Among his responsibilities were taking Lucie and Desi Jr. to school and taking her mother Dede shopping. He also became the “major domo” who ran Lucy’s Beverly Hills home. Sadly he passed away last year.
This must be the very clever front license because it has no sticker. The stories this plate could tell. This little trinket was picked up by a friend of mine, Rick, at an estate sale. A nice addition to his collection of Hollywood memorabilia.
So the plate and the Hertz credit card are floated in a simple black shadow box, not too deep. Of course the card and the plate deserve to be mounted on black suede to give the presentation a deep rich elegant appeal. Framing. …..Under $100. Magic happens here. Friday The 13th
Friday the 13th
Not just another Hollywood teenage slasher horror film. This movie started out as an independant film originally titled “A Long night at camp Blood” but was quickly scooped up by the major movie studios Paramont and Warner Bros. The film has since acquired quite a cult following.
Frame Club kills it in this presentation. This display features the mask and the machete featured in the movie. Plex boxes have a unique look and are excellent for exhibiting objects that require a deep box.

Batter UP! ….check out this fabulous collection paying homage to the Dodgers. The Brooklyn Dodgers won The World Series for the first time in 1955 and tickets cost $10.50. It took all seven games. Cigarette ads competed for The fans attention.
Get your programs here. These programs are valuable relics that need special attention making the presentation tricky. Fortunately Frame Club has a special way of dealing with this problem. The magazines are displayed in a way where they are not harmed in anyway and look like they magically float on top of the matboard. Everything is completely reversible with no harm done.

Just another custom signature Frame Club creation. Check out the super custom mat that really accents this piece extremely well. This is the diamond plate pattern on a silver mat exclusively available at Frame Club.
An US’83 tee shirt (US pronounced like the pronoun). Part of the Valley Relics Museum collection. This three day concert must have been a forerunner of Coachella. Check out the line up. May 28th New Wave day. May 29th Heave Metal day. May 30th Rock day. A 4th day on July 4th was also added..Country Day. Sound familiar…Stage Coach… Price for the 3 day ticket was $37.50
So the challenge for this layout was that we wanted to show both sides of the tee shirt. We cut the tee shirt in half and… voila…awesome presentation.

Awesome fright movie. Awesome poster. This poster definitely needs a big wall measuring 45 x 65 (French one panel). Amazing color leaping out of the frame. A showpiece item.
Pricing: $433
gold frame $201 ….. OP3 UV filtered plex $232 ( essential to protect the delicate color from fading) This original movie poster was folded as all the old vintage movie posters were. Ultimately it needs to be linen backed to take out the creases but that would add another 300. All in all just hang it on the wall and enjoy. The backing can be done another day.
